Person responsible for personal information

TradeQuote is operated by TradeQuote, Mont-Laurier (Québec). The person responsible for the protection of personal information (Québec Law 25) can be reached at lgxpowerna@gmail.com.

What we collect and where it is stored

Data you type into the app (your business details and logo, GST/QST/RBQ numbers or the registration numbers of your region, such as SIRET or VAT number, your region (country and province or state), client list with your clients' names, addresses, emails and phone numbers, line items, document history, the document in progress): stored only in your browser's local storage on your device. It is not sent to our servers; PDFs are generated in your browser.
Backup file (“Export my data” button): created locally on your device and downloaded where you choose; it is never sent to our servers. It contains your business details and logo, your client list, document history and Pro subscription identifier, so keep it somewhere safe. Importing a backup only reads the file in your browser.
Share, email and calendar: “Share / Send” hands the PDF to the app you pick on your device (Mail, Gmail, Messages…) or opens your email app; “Google Calendar” opens Google Calendar with the job details (client name, address, number, total) pre-filled, so those details are sent to Google by your browser only if you use that button; the .ics file and the CSV exports are created locally on your device. We receive none of this.
Pro subscription payments: processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your name, email, billing address and card details; we never see your full card number. In our Stripe account we can see your name, email, billing address, subscription status and the last 4 digits of the card. Your browser keeps the Stripe subscription identifier so the app can confirm your Pro status with Stripe.
Technical logs: our host, Vercel, records technical data (IP address, browser, page requested, time) to operate and secure the service.
Emails you send us: your address and the content of your message.

No advertising cookies, no third-party analytics, and we never sell or rent your information.

Your client list and your clients' contact details stay on your device: we never receive them. As a business, you remain responsible for the personal information of your own clients (collect only what you need, keep your device and backup files secure).

Why we use it

To provide the app, process and verify subscriptions, prevent fraud, answer your requests and meet our legal (tax) obligations.

Outside Québec

Stripe and Vercel may store or process information outside Québec, including in the United States. They are subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

Retention

Browser data: until you delete it (button below, or by clearing your browser's site data).
Payment records: for the length of the subscription, then as long as tax laws require (generally 6 years).
Technical logs: according to Vercel's retention periods (short term).
Emails: as long as needed to handle your request, at most 2 years after our last exchange.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, withdraw your consent, or receive your information in a structured format. Write to lgxpowerna@gmail.com; we reply within 30 days. You may also file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).

If you use TradeQuote from the European Union or Switzerland, you have the same rights under the GDPR or the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection) and may also complain to your local data protection authority. Users elsewhere (including the United States) can make the same requests by email.

Security incidents

If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the people concerned, as required by law.
